Apoplix
Expressive digital experience studio

Ideas, brought to life.

Apoplix designs interactive, motion rich digital experiences that people do not just look at but take part in.

Move your cursor across this section — the gradient follows it. Every piece below is an illustrative concept study.

What Apoplix does

Interactive design

Experiences built around a gesture, a step or a touch, so the audience becomes part of the piece rather than a viewer of it.

Motion and 3D

Real-time motion systems, generative visuals and room-scale 3D that hold up on a phone screen and a twelve-metre wall.

Web experiences

Fast, expressive sites and campaign pieces where the interface itself is the idea, not a wrapper around it.

Installations and events

Physical work for foyers, festivals and launches, planned with the technical crew who have to run it every day.

Work

Six concept studies

Illustrative pieces created to show how Apoplix thinks. Hover a card to see it move, then open it for the thinking behind it.

How it works

Four stages, risky part first

Interactive work fails when the interaction is left until last. We invert that order, so the thing an audience actually touches is the first thing we build.

  1. 01

    Frame

A short, intense workshop to agree what the piece has to do to a person standing in front of it, and how you will know it worked.

  2. 02

    Prototype

We build the risky part first: the interaction, the shader, the sensor. Rough, real and in your hands within the first weeks.

  3. 03

    Craft

Visual design, motion and production run together, tested at true scale rather than approved as flat mock-ups.

  4. 04

    Run

Installation, commissioning and a handover pack, so the venue team can open and close the piece without calling us.

Services

Three ways studios bring us in

Interactive installations

Concept, hardware specification, software and on-site commissioning for room-scale and façade work.

  • Sensor and camera interaction
  • Projection and LED
  • Crew handover and documentation

Motion identity

How a brand behaves once it starts moving: transitions, generative rules and a kit your team can drive.

  • Motion principles
  • Generative toolkits
  • Screen and stage assets

Web and campaign builds

Expressive, performance-minded front-end work for launches, exhibitions and programme sites.

  • WebGL and canvas
  • Editorial and programme sites
  • Accessibility and performance passes

Example scenarios

Illustrative situations, written to show the kind of brief this studio is built for. Not descriptions of real clients or projects.

Audience with raised arms in front of bright stage lights in a dark venue

A cultural institution opening a new wing

A foyer piece that gives visitors something to do in the first thirty seconds, and gives the press something to photograph.

Open-plan design studio with teams working at long desks under industrial lighting

A brand team relaunching an identity

A motion system and interactive launch piece that make a new identity feel alive rather than announced.

Live performance lit in intense magenta and pink light with a dense crowd

An event producer with one night to land it

Stage visuals and an audience-reactive centrepiece built to be rigged, run and struck by a touring crew.

About the name

Apoplix

A coined name shaped for a short, expressive digital identity. Three syllables, a hard stop at the end, and no existing meaning to argue with — which leaves the colour, the motion and the work itself to define what it stands for.

It reads the same in a URL, on a wall and in a credit roll, and the shape of the letters holds up at poster scale. That is exactly what an experience studio needs from its own name: something that gets out of the way of the piece in front of you.

Rough answers are welcome. A budget band and a date are enough for a first conversation about whether an interactive piece is the right move at all.
